So if it's male you wanna cut it down? Don't you get seeds from males or something?

or something!
plants are like humans when it comes to reproduction in the sense that the male produce then pollen / sperm, the female produce an calyx / egg, and when the two meet the female calyx will produce a seed.

Well, the way I do it early is mostly by smell. The male plants will give off a run you out of the house aroma but the females are much gentler. If you put your nose close to the plant and give it a good snigg, then to another plant, if they smell the same, they are probably OK, but if they smell entirely different and one is very much stonger then the other, then its more then likely a male or a hermie. Another way is to wait until an early flower has begun. Males will have balls, hermies will have balls and hair but the females will just have hairs on them. These hairs do vary in color, some are snow white, some are red, I have even seen some blue ones but you can tell the difference in a big way. Nothing between the hairs but more hairs and no little balls at all. But dont throw out the males like some folks tell you to do. They make very good hash, if nothing else and personally, I have even dried and smoked them. Not a really good buzz but it keeps you from scalping the buds while you wait, and if you are anything at all like me, sometimes the temptation is just too great and I end up destroying a plant just to get a litte good buzz. Just because I was all the way out of pot. No will power here my friend.
