Hey ss are you not gonna do a competition to guess what was up with the car lol.I reckon it is a wheel bearing. Are the abs pick ups on your car exciter rings or magnetic strip rings because the latter cause no end of problems with the slightest amount of play.On some cars them pick up rings even control your spedometer and i will bet that on your car they send signals to the speed sensor for your steering. If im wrong and it has exciter rings i would check that non of the teeth are missing or the gaps filled with debris and also iron filings or anything on the sensors good luck

That is only part of what my mates in Japan translated for me. The easy stuff. The abs errors were coming from the brake boost/abs thing-a-me-what’s-it gizmo. 3k for a new one. There were no broken teeth on the abs pickup ring gears, although there were some debris in there that may have corrupted the signal, either way, the main brake/abs hardware was past it used by date anyway.

It’s 16 years old after all and they are only designed to last about 10 years and the warranty in only about 3-5 years on a new car, so I can’t complain. That’s all in the past anyway.

I only have 2 nigley little problems left to fix. Which is to realign the rear wheel steering so the car doesn’t drive like a shopping trolley, and rebuild one of the larger accumulators for the hydraulics. I had my local engineering shop make me a new one for 120 euro, which is about 1/20th the price of a new one from Toyota, but Toyota don’t sell that part anymore so you have to make it yourself anyway :-o No problem, because all 8 accumulators on it are of a standard size diameter tube that any engineering shop could get for you.

I may even start selling my new accumulators to other active owners, seeing as no one else has ever remanufactured them as far as I know.

Here is how I made the new suspension controller accumulator. Use the old piston but fitted and new o-ring, which was standard of the shelf size as well. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Mr T.

My blue one is a limited edition V8 and very rare. I own the only 2 in this country. Toyota only made 873 of them and there are probably only about 200 in existence now. What that white soarer is my good man is a twin turbo six.. There are 100’s of them in Ireland. Toyota made about 50,000 I think of them from 1991-2001. I have one of those too. That one looks like a 94 or 95 model. At 8000 euro it’s a little over priced but seeing as it’s manual and not an auto like most of them he my just get the money he is after in Ireland.

I would not buy it for that kind of money. My 94 Silver TT only cost me 4,600 euro about 3 years ago and I picked up 2 limited edition v8 active soarers for 5,600 euro. And the seller reckons it only has 100,000 ks on it? Not after 14 years  . The mileage on a car that old would be close to 200,000k, so the speedo has been clocked, but pretty much all second hand cars have, so no surprise there. By the sounds of the description and pictures with all the bs hanging off the dash, it looks like it was a track day car or even a drift car at some time, so it’s probably had a hard life. It’s a bit skanky really and you could get a banger one of those for like 1500 bucks, but those cars are/were popular in the drift/track/race day scene so that’s to be expected. Someone skankered it :P

Me, I wouldn’t touch a stick shift with a 10 foot pole, I’m not posh enough and if god had meant us to drive manual then we all would of been born with 3 legs right? For 8k you could get a much later lower miler GTL version with all the options like sunroof and stuff. Still it will probably sell at that price. The performance mods are better than factory so that’s what you would be paying for I figure.

My 2 cents worth

Looks good SS , i was on the right track anyway , we discussed the abs controller on page 3/4 . Nice work with the accumulator to nice to see there are a few of us still about that can still solve a problem by being a bit creative.
