Re: need help on breeding autoflowering
Hi Bob
I am no expert on breeding, never made a real good attempt at it, produced seeds but I really dont have the space/time to do a good job. Breeding and stablisation is a time consuming process, and most time I have spare is spent making sure I don't have to smoke any "street weed". As soon as I get some "decent" seeds from my growing they will go straight to SS for freebes (you gotta give something back you know).
That said I do have some comments on the subject, as Sarge pointed out I have a thread elsewhere which is intended to act as an auto resource. My main concern at the moment is there is a bit of a thing going on with Lowlife seeds (and thier supporters) and the Joint Doctor seeds (and thier supporters), which means that strains are being released before they are stable. Its the easiest thing to start a flame war on the subject, just mention it, but that is my and others experiences. This means that some of the latest strains are not the best starting point.
That said there ARE great auto strains out there, including Dutch Breed (heard good things about them but not yet grown them) as well. The most stable auto breeding strains are LR, LR2, and LL AK and these are a great starting point, but remeber its a long term project. I have heard that LL will have a white widow cross out soon and by all accounts its good stuff.
If you want a good smoke, and a decent yield I would suggest mastering growing one of the stable strains first, it takes some grows to understand the plants, but my LR2s are now mostly all over the 1 oz yield, some upto 2 oz. The LR2 x AK can yield large, my best is over 4 oz from my last AK grow. I have also grown outdoors, but for some reason

all my outdoor plants get pollenated, there are males nearby !! My fav smoking auto is the JD NYCD which is awesome, but still not the most stable of strains and its only the 1 pheno that seems to be a killer. The second fav smoke, and definatly the most reliable, is LR2. There is talk that its a shit smoke, not true, give the plant what it wants and you get a dank result, indica stone spicey smoke.
If I can be of any help let me know, I have a thread in grow room set up which shows how I grow, everythings there.
