Post New tent grow of Skywalker
Hi everyone! Just thought id start a journal for my new plants and setup. Im still quite new to this but I try and do my research too.
Ive decided to stay with a previous successful strain of Skywalker which are feminized (so shouldnt have problems with setting up a male then having to bin it :( )
Ive got 10 babies going, all have sprouted..

Starting them off in some containers I had laying around:
They are in a 2x2x2m mylar tent (money well spent!)
Using a coco-peat brick mixed with perlite as the medium
Using a 600W HPS light
Have an air con unit set at 27 degrees constantly on in there with the exhaust going out the window <--- this is a temp thing until my ventilation comes in (should be about a week away). Going with an other 600W cooltube light and a 6" centrifugal fan with a carbon filter.

Ive just raised the light up to about 30cm away from the tops of them as they were starting to grow a bit close. They are all starting to get slightly yellow or light green in colour. Hopefully this helps. I did start feeding them today with some IONIC Grow at half strength and seems to have given them some new sets of leaves.

I pH tested the feeding water and that came out at 6.5. Before i put in the nutrient i put in a product called "Root Defender" which is to kill pathogens in the water (was recommended to me).

Temps in the tent range between 25 - 30 degrees. Air con works wonders but im not looking forward to the electricity bill. It has a thermostat so when the room temp hits what i set it at the air con switches off and just acts as a fan. So the air con is not on all the time. (Thought the unit was broken when it wasnt cooling... soon figured it out haha)

Please dont be afraid to post! :) All help is appreciated and may also be needed..

some pics below of my setup......

if the a/c dont have a external intake ( portable grow a/c units have this ) , its going to exhaust all the smell right out the window ( where you said the hose is running ) look at the pic below

Looks like you are off to a good start.
Might be a good idea to get that ballast off the ground though.

No it doesn't have an external intake :( That looks ideal. I'm only keeping the air con in the room until i get my carbon filter hooked up.. or if its too hot maybe have to run it on a timer now and then. If i use the air con I have bought a Y connector so i will hook up this and the extraction fan up to the connector and then exhaust it through the roof (might be hard to imagine without pics..) By doing this i will be able to use the window for fresh air and then not spray my neighbours with an inviting smell :Yum

Post More pics
Ive taken a few more pics to show the yellowing leaves on some. When i started feeding them the new growth was coming in pretty normal with only a little bit of yellow. Not sure if they just needed some food or if they are having issues...
Some of the leaves are canoeing too.
Any ideas ?

I'm about to move them into 18 liter pots tomorrow, so hope they pick up after that...

Lights are about 30cm above the tops still and now ive put timers on for 18 on and 6 off.
