Re: Veggie's Efforts for 2009
Sorry, I hit submit too soon on my last post...
I have smoked and had quite a bit of the original UBC Chemo in my day 20 or so years ago but haven't seen the real stuff since. It is very unique looking. Very lime green even if it's let go longer than usual. No large buds, it's like Kush in that way...round hard lime green nugs.
We used to joke that the stuff glowed and we called it wheel chair weed. There was one summer in particular that a couple growers had a batch that had seeds in it in the late 80's but of course back then I wasn't wise enough to keep any of them. If I did I probably put them in a film container mixed with all my other bag seed strains from back then but that canister unfortunately was stolen at a party in the early 90's
Anyway I haven't seen or smoked anything like it since. It was verging on hallucinating with the stuff. And back then I was a chronic big time, it was the bomb for real.
I've heard very great things about the Chem Dawg but after reading a lot of what people are saying about it on the net it seems like it's just an early version that the Diesel strain took off from. If that's the case I've smoked quite a bit of strains better than NYC D and Sour Diesel so I wouldn't go crazy looking for it.
Now I've read that some peeps are saying the OG Kush came from the Chem Dawg cross. But I don't think that's true if I've seen the real OG Kush it doesn't resembel NYC Diesel or Sour Diesel at all. The two plants (any Kush actually) is far from looking like the NYC D or SD.
Who knows with all this crap talk on the net anyway.
So anyway I'm rambling again. I'm now growing the original OG Kush in my 8 light and new rooms. The cuts come from some med growers that I recently did some work with.
It's supposed to not yield as good as the Purple Kush. I've got the clone op in full swing and am supplying a few med growers now with the OG. We took the cuts from the very, very best plants that we chose from a selection of 2322 female clone OG Kush girls and are making "super mom's" from them. Out of the 2322 plants there was around a dozen that were "super plants" We took 50 cuts from them and they'll be the lead girls for our OG line up.
The med growers I know have only once managed to get it to produce 1.8 lbs/light so I hope I can get a better yield than that with it. They're averaging only 1.4 to 1.6 with it.
It's very tall and lanky compared to the Hindu, Master, Bubba, or Purple Kush that I'm familiar with more.
I love talking strains....can't wait for my breeding room!
Cheers!
